Who is Susan Boyle?

A friend wrote an entry about Susan Boyle with a link to a You Tube site. I logged onto the site and found it was the Britain's Got Talent show. The first sight of the character was that of a frumpy middle-aged lady inelegantly wolfing down a sandwich. She was described by one blogger as more like one's grandmother's bridge partner than a contestant for a talent show.

The same 3 judges, Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell could not hide their dismissive looks and skepticism at the sight of this plain looking woman. Hardnosed critics Cowell and Morgan displayed the usual rolling eyes, blowing of cheeks and the knowing look which said, "Oh, we have a live on here." Amanda Holden, being the gentler soul actually look worried, as if she felt sorry for the poor woman who it seemed was about to make a right fool of herself.

As she announced she was going to sing "I dreamed a dream" from the musical 'Les Miserables', there was an ironic cheer, but in a matter of seconds as she sang the first few notes n her pure clear voice, the 47-year-old Susan Boyle, the unmarried, unemployed and never-been-kissed spinster from "a collection of villages" (in her words) stunned the judges and audience alike. And when she hit the high note in the middle of the song, the audience rose as one in applause. In fact, so powerful was Susan Boyle's performance that many viewers were moved to tears.

So, what accounts for this hysteria? Is it the song, the singer or the story? I think it is the combination of all three and more. 'I dreamed a dream' is from that tear jerking musical. So, when the beatiful song was matched with the pure voice and passion of Boyle even the sternest of critic like Simon Corwell melted. He looked lovestruck during the entire rendition. wawawak :D

I believe she sang it with such passion because the song mirrored her personal life. She has been singing since she as 12 and has longed to be a professional singer. Somehow the world seemed to pass her by as she remained locked in the small Scottish village where she sang in the church coir. If she were to be offered a record deal now, and if only one percentage of the people who viewed her performance on You Tube were to buy her CD, Susan Boyle would achieve the Platinum Award of one million sales.

The promise of a dream fulfilled Susan Boyle strikes a chord in us. For each one of us, consciously or unconsciously, harbours a dream, a song that longs to a break free. Susan Boyle has sung the song which is unsung in our hearts

Friendship

friendship- wonder how many of us really understand the meaning of friendship~~

Have you ever wondered what ever happened to those that used to be ur 'kamceng' friends during the earlier years in your lifes? The one that you reveal your secrets to, share your tears with, and rejoice ur excitement together? For girls, it might be the ones you played 'masak-masak' with and for boys, the ones you sneakily clandestine played fireworks with during 'malam tujuh likur'. What ever happened to them?

As for me, most are still friends, some of them are now "just neigbours next door", a few "long lost friends" and very few are long gone untraced. For those still around, I sometimes bump into them at the local grocers, or meet them occasionally during "kenduri kahwin". For some you might recognize them instantaneously, some might trigger familiarity and cause both of you to stare right at each other, yet both refusing to greet the other and some, you wouldn't notice even if you brushed shoulders with them.

No matter what the reasons may be for the detachment that grew between us, I can't deny the joyful feeling of meeting that person again. It's like being re-united after seperation. Unless of course, somebody that you have hated all your life (life is all about exceptions, isn't it). But generally, it will be that happy feeling because familiarity has its own comfort. Even if you weren't best buddies with such person way back ago. And given the opportunity, who knows, the person you just "know-of" in school before just become your best bud now.

After all , no matter how good a friend is (or was), they're going to hut you once in a while and you must forgive them for that, for they are only human like we are. The issue now does not linger on who was right or wrong back then but who will take the initiative to make peace. Not everybody gets the opportunity to initiate peace. And trust me, it is the most fulfilling feeling you will ever get...

Childhood moment

this was how she reacted when I tried to take her picture.
mdm azlina's cute and adorable daughter. pinjam boleh mdm?

Childhood is the time when we can build castles in the sky, see elephants and monkeys in the cloud, play with tadpoles (aa..yg ini saya kot?. LOL), jump on our matresses to our heart's delight, ask why the sky is blue, roll in the dirt, and play with trucks and dolls; it is a time when memories are made and a friendship are established. And oh yeah, don't forget one thing, it is also the time when we had our first crush~ lalala :D
(kecik2 dh kan??)

When I was a kid, I would look forward to the party because there were games, gifts, foods and friends. I would wake up early so that I could take my sweet time getting ready. I remembered one event that are still clearly visible on my mind during my childhood time at Tadika zasa, Kuching. One of my former classmate was having her birthday party at our tadika. Together with the other kids, I was brought to the classroom-turned-party room. The ceiling of the room would be beautifully decorated with coulurful balloons and brightly-coloured paper.

The fragnant aroma of the food reached my nostrils the instat I stepped into the room. As if on cue, my stomach would start growling. My eyes would rest on the table which was set at the corner of the room. It would be laden with all the delicious food in the world that a kid could think of.

As if knowing what we were thinking, the teacher would distract us with the games that she had planned for us. When the fun and excitement kicked in, delicious food and hunger were son forgotten. There would be a lot of games to keep us kids ocuupied. When seeing soe of us out of breath from all the jumping and crawling, the teacher would ask us to sit around her for a storytelling session. auuuwww..how i miss that moment =.='

Some said that our childhood is the beginning of our creative nature and ambitious desire to enjoy life and succeed in it. We could learn from them, Children have neither past nor future ; they enjoy the present, which very few of us do...

Happiness

Happiness..
that grand mistress of ceremony in the dance of life.
impels us through all its mazes and meanderings,
but leads none of us by the same route...

sayangness

I could just smiled as i looked at this picture and it makes me think of something…

When I find myself fading, I close my eyes...

and realize my friends are my energy... :)

Now

Palm Beach Resort, Sematan

I am washed with emotions. In the end after the storm has ended, I can see calm sea ahead, clear blue skies above me and now everything is clear

UK ? US ?

salam and hey there peeps!!!

Education is about being a whole person. You can learn much through your studies, but it is the life experiences you gain that will prepare you for the unforeseeable future. Edinburgh has a special place in my heart. It is better to make the most of the overseas experience, than take refuge in the comfort of familiar things. Be a black canvas and take on the colours that will mould you as a person. I personally want to pursue my studies in Edinburgh one day. InsyaAllah by God’s will.

For the MARA scholarship application, I applied biotechnology course which is my second choice after medicine. Don’t ask why I refused to take up medicine for my future career ya. According to Zetty, my ex senior in Kolej, who is currently doing her ADFP (American Degree Foundation Programme) for a year in Intec, saying that most of the time, MARA would send biotech students to US or Australia. And I was like “mcm xda harapan jak pergi UK mun cam tok oh? “ ok, xmintak =____=’

It is not only the high standard of education in UK that is of utmost importance, it is also the priceless to live the experience in all possible ways. And I’m not saying US or Aussie do not give the highest standard of qualifications tho. It is just that I feel safer in UK compared to US and one more thing, yeah, Amal has the idea of creating an album for ronggeng di UK for those of us who study in UK. sounds cool? Argghh..ya ya.lame~ I believe the environment in which you study is as important as individual effort and determination in achieving excellence. In a way, I want to meet someone whom I don’t bumped into for almost 2 years. huhu

But US is not that bad actually kan? Hehehe

You know what I mean?

We Would Never Say Goodbye

It had been like an ages since I last blogging. Wuh~ And seriously + frankly speaking, I miss blogging damn much! Gila eh. Hakhak. No matter what, I love blogging. And blogging makes me feel like I will receive something big one day. I don’t know what does it exactly means but okay people! I am back. (ps : terok na bunyi writing tok, lmk dh xnulis. Huhu).

The milo had cooled to freezing brown sludge, my body was stiff from sitting in the same position for a couple of hours and my eyes ached as I stared at the world that was coming alive outside. About 16 days left before I fly off to Kedah. Perghh..tensi sungguh.. Now I feel regret because I didn’t choose Labuan for matriculation. Yah great! Amal, Azah, siam n others can ronggeng di Labuan. Waaaa… =________=’ The disappointment was nearly as instantaneous as the recognition. Nothing lingered here. Nothing more than the memories that I could have called back whenever I wanted to, if I was ever willing to endure corresponding pain - the pain that had me now, had me cold. There are nothing special about this ‘going to Kedah’ without them. I am not exactly sure what I’m hoping to feel there, but the meadow is empty of atmosphere, empty of everything, just like everywhere else. My head swirled dizzily. Wuh~

Hmm, I don’t want to think much about this because this is just for my backup plan. MARA scholarship will be out on the last week of May if I’m not mistaken. If I can get this scholarship, I will be sent for a foundation programme somewhere in Shah Alam (I guess so) InsyaAllah. After a year or maybe more than that, I’ll be abroad. Thinking of this scholar thingy, I remembered during my interview session, the two ladies were just nice and friendly. But the thing was they tried to twist my answers no matter what. Haha. And that was killing me! But chill tiqa! It’s over and just be patient with the result and hope everything will be fine. InsyaAllah

Right, since it’s about 16 days left for me to ronggeng together with friends, Ryza has this greaaattt and brilliant idea for our next ronggengan. Cee..pakah. can’t wait!!!

*beaming.. =)

If I could steal this moment forever…I want to paint a picture perfect-smile so our story stayed alive…we would never say goodbye~
