See You Around!

One thing I didn’t inherit from my mom is her packing skills.

Oh my mom is fantastic.

You can give her so much and she’ll be all calm packing for you. Everything will be so neat and when you arrive at your destination, everything is still in its place. Even if you give her mountains of clothes and things, but she’ll just go la la la and fit it all in whatever suitcase size you have.

I love the idea of travelling light but I never seem to be able to do so! I’d be the worst back-packer ever. I always think Ohhh I might need that, Ohhh I’ll miss that, Ohh this might go with that… all these evil things in my head that tell me I need to add more things into my suitcase. For me, it’s better to bring than not bring.

Man, how do you guys pack???

Now that my time is coming near, I'd like to apologize to anyone and everyone I have ever caused any harm to in any way. And if I owe anyone anything, do tell me, I'm not gonna run away leaving debts unpaid.

And to all my dear friends and especially my dear beloved family, I will miss you all sooooo much and you all know I love you guys a whole lot...

I know there's so much you've all done for me, and I apologize but please allow me to be even more selfish and ask for more things, your Blessings and your Prayers =).

And you're all always in my prayers..
There's no doubt I love this country, Allah Bless Malaysia. Thank you very much everyone for everything..May we meet again some other time..

Any update memang through Twitter lah, since that's the easiest way for now until I got stable connection :)

KL - Bahrain - FINAL DESTINATION :D

Because she loves free food

Such a thick wedding invitation card

I love going to weddings (free food helloooo :D), but I’m such a crybaby sometimes.

I can cry just watching the video montage of any couple (even if they are complete strangers to me ) because it’s always made so romantic and backed up by a really nice love song.

But I definitely need a tissue when the parents come on stage to deliver their speech. They’ll say how sad they are to lose a daughter but happy to gain a son bla bla….but you can so hear the sadness in their voices. And you’ll then see the sadness in my eyes.

OMG I’m so embarrassing to take anywhere ok.

in a wedding:

1) Repeating the same phrase over and over again: “Hey did you guys just arrived? Please eat and enjoy yourselves!”

2) Twitching cheeks from smiling to the camera so much.

3) the inevitable question: so when’s your turn?

Thank God number 3 doesn’t apply to me. Bhahaha :D

Whenever I attended ppl's solemnization / wedding , I will look at their faces and wondered what they were feeling inside. I mean, getting married seems to be like a huge deal.

I went to Kak N's wedding last weekend. And the dad’s speech was so funny. At one point, he said,

“When he asked me if he could take my daughter’s hand in marriage, I just said yes with one stipulation. That when he took her hands, he would also take away the hands that are always in my wallet.”

I thought that was so clever! Haha.

Candy and Roses for the girl down the road

Image223

I’m quite serious about moving to a little quaint town and leading a simple life. Like opening up a candy store and making five-year-olds smile everyday at three. Or opening up a small bookstore so warm that dear seven-year-old Siti from down the road drops by each time after school just to say “Hi” and that new word she just learned from her English class. And then we’d have storytelling sessions every Saturday.

I’d like to be able to watch the greens everyday. I want to be surrounded by nature and animals. Nothing would give me more joy than the ability to stare at the beautiful blue skies every now and then, and not thick grey smokes from that truck in front.

I can’t stand the sight of cars in bunches. I want to look ahead and see bunches of summer flowers blossoming in between the bushes instead.

I’d like to be rich too, but not with money or power.

Image222

I am into branded handbags or shoes or apple stuff, I wont deny it. But I think being rich is when we are able to put food on the table and a smile on each other’s faces. And that’s a lot of inner values and passion in the heart. And I’d like to be rich like that.

I can’t stand all that partying lifestyle in the city.

I sometimes can’t stand crowds in shopping malls. I can’t stand the sight of tall buildings at every nook and cranny of the city without any element of nature in between. I want to be able to look up and breathe in the view of a beautiful tall tree. And hear the birds from those tall branches sing back.

I can’t stand loud music. I want quiet. I want peace.

But why does “simple” seem too much to ask for these days?

Jom usahakan!

Bukan taknak buat...tapi... Belum sampai seru?

Kenapa ye...

Alangkah untung orang seperti Sumayyah si hamba tawanan. Seumur hidup dalam kesesatan. Hanya satu ilmu yang baru sempat dipelajari - Laila haillallah, Muhammadurrasulullah. Terus diamalkan, direlakan diri diseksa dari mengakui selainNya walau dipaksa. Lansung syahid pengakhirannya & syurga destinasinya.

Takutnyaaa hati menjadi keras.
Its not only privilege. It comes with responsibility to practice it.

Dah cukup seimbangkah ilmu dengan amalan? Aduh, takut sendiri bila mengenangkan.....

Bila hati keras, tak dapat terima petunjuk. Terus terusan la kita dan cucu cicit kita dlm kesesatan nanti.. Nauzubillahiminzalik..

Bak kata Franklin D Roosevelt dalam 1st inaugural speech nya as American President- Only thing we have to fear is fear itself

Usahakan yok!;) Allah akan bantu, jgn risau.Dialah sebaik2 penolong.

(referring to ayat 16: Al Hadid)

ps: InsyaAllah I'm reminding myself as much as I'm reminding you.

Speechless

*cried* :’)

Of the things I've been doing and handling

Do you have days when you really, really want to express something, but you simply couldn't find the words? Do you have days when you really, really thought that everything would be fine and no one would mind, so you took every single thing for granted?

I have those days. And I've been having them for quite some time now.

For the past few days I've been really busy. Well, I sleep during day time and night time. It was horrible. Ok lah fine. Exaggerating. I've been trying to settle all the things like bank acc, food, bags and stuff before leaving. I've got to give it to you. It's not easy. Thinking and expressing it in technical writing. Pheww..

A few of our friends have come to the UK / Ireland to study. With the new government and ruling, I honestly don't think UK is the best country to live in at the moment. What with the visa restrictions (hate this, I have to reject my Queen Mary's offer because of this), limited working opportunity for foreigner, ridiculous raising expenses and not to mention gloomy weather and tasteless food. It you want to come to Europe, come for holiday. (Ok, sebenarnya jealous ;p)

But nevertheless I still thank Allah for the roof I'm under, for the livestock I have and for the wonderful family and friends I'm with. Mom has been quite different for the past few days, not that she wasn't before but she was extra caring now that I couldn't thank you enough to Allah s.w.t for giving her to me :)

This afternoon in our neighbourhood area, I was with mak and she suddenly stopped the car.

And I was like "Whyyy?"
Mak "There's a kitten in front. Afraid I cud hit her. Pergi alih tepi japp"

And I was like ME?? Why me???? C'monn, I hate cats! No, not hate, more like geli or takut. haha pathetic.

But then kindly la, I dont know how I got the strength kan,
I said to myself  "Ok, ini makhluk Allah jugak, why so scared?"
Then, tadaaaa! Proudly I manage to lift it up!!!!

The size was more or less like in the picture. So small! Baru belajar berjalan rasanyaa..

Actually nothing interesting happened that could explain my lack of writing. Other than a lot of work to be done I'm just being a girl staying home couching. No, I don't usually do this laziness a lot, just lately.

p/s : Ok, kepada anda. Ok, anda! Kalau suka dekat dia, jangan la jadikan saya sebagai kaunter pertanyaan. Ok rimas.

Her Heart

The crystal in her earring had cracked. It was her favourite pair.

That had been a long time ago. Those earrings were now just a reminder of a time when she had been young and carefree, and she had thought that love was forever.

But the world had rotated on its axis, and she had gone on with her life, as people do.

Babysitting duty

I love when little Shafiqah and Shakirah come and visit us in Kuching. It brightens up everyone’s mood!

I’m not running for Babysitter of The Year award or anything, but I can take care of them ok!!
“Taking care” has many definitions anyway. Mine is just to make sure they’re still alive (to the extent of my control).

My aunt was out somewhere so she left me with the two kids.

Shafiqah accompanied me while I did some online work today, all the while giving me entertainment about her day and how she has 2 legs and 2 hands. -__-

***Feeding time

Shafiqah refused to eat.

“Nanti Shafiqah laparrr!!!!”

“Tak nak, sup Kak Eka tak sedap.”

-___-"

(Oh I memang x talk w them in melayu swk, fyi)

We both had our own bowl of soup. My idea was that we eat together. You over there, me over here… usually accompanied by some dinner conversation, but “Puahsgjhegrjkshfkjh” was not a language I understood.

blog 1

Anyway, Shafiqah kept coming into my territory and compared my soup to hers. She found mine to be more interesting therefore decided to dip her hands into mine. How lovely. NO ONE touches my food!! But this was my Shafiqah. So I gave in and she finished my soup. And hers too. Tadaaa! *blows nail*

***Pampers time

This is only for little Shakirah.

I wiped Shakirah clean and put some powder on her. Then placed her carefully on half of the pampers. Ok.. fold the flap, make sure it’s not too tight and not too loose, take out the sticky thingy and stick on both sides. With pursed lips and full concentration, I did it! I think Shakirah wanted to laugh at me.

And voila!!! Done!!!!

I was soo happy, you have no idea. hahaha

*** TV time

Shakirah was more distracted by SNSD's music video. On the right track, that one.

***Sleeping time
Oh dear God, I have so much respect for parents.

It was not easy trying to get them to sleep!! They kept wanting to talk and play in bed and they kept rolling around here and there. I shoved milk bottles into their mouths. I pretended to sleep with them and just stayed silent. They kept silent too. After a few minutes, I was so happy that they’ve fallen asleep.

Suddenly, the little cute voice….

“Kak Eka, dah habish,” and shoved the bottles into my nose. Oh my room was dark. Purposely tutup tingkap and langsir semua, I don’t blame them. I blame myself.

So, the loves of my life continued laughing and playing again.

I just kept silent and pretended to sleep, hoping they’d follow suit.

Finally, the big sister fell asleep. And little sister follows everything she does, so she slept too.

At one point, it was so quiet I felt quite lonely. I wished they would wake up. Haha. They were right in front of me but I missed them. I watched them sleep and they just looked so adorable! So angelic and peaceful.

But they are leaving for Johor :'(

blog 4

MasyaAllah, Allah bless you my love.

They bring so much colour into my small family and life wouldn’t be complete anymore without them. :)

But seriously…there won’t be any Atiqa Babysitting Service Sdn Bhd

Maintaining Friendship

Can you imagine life without your friends? God it would be so dull.

That is why I keep my old friends close. The good ones, of course. It’s really not that hard to send them random texts or in my case, constant updates about each other’s lives.

The sad thing is that as you grow up, you will find that people have their own paths in life. You’ll go to different colleges, different universities, different countries even! That is when the test is really on. Whether or not your friendship is worth cultivating, or you’re only friends because it was convenient once upon a time.

My good friends are all over the world. We started off somewhere together, then everyone went flying to different continents. Which totally pathetic. But with the technology we have these days, it’s not hard to keep in touch and do useful stuff….like this:

Amalll

Sometimes I feel like we’re not even physically apart. Sometimes I don’t even get to miss them because I see their faces almost everyday on Skype, tweets updated almost every minute, every hour. or I basically know everything about their life abroad through FB updates.

So tomorrow night, some of my closest friends in KMS will be leaving for India (specifically Manipal).

And have started to send wishes, worried about certain stuff, etc

Sometimes..I am just so touched :')

IMG_1388

Sometimes..being (ignorant), I don't know where my friend is heading :| Bad bad

IMG_1389

Sometimes...we worried about our ke'exceed'an (I know this doesnt exist ;p) of luggage

IMG_1392

Sometimes...we feel so sad :'( (Ayuni, cousin ang! ;p )

IMG_1391

Sometimes...emmm this is hard. Confuse? Going insane? Hahaha that's my Farah! :)

IMG_1393

At the end of the day, it’s friendships like these that will go on forever. You’re pretty much stuck with them if you know you can’t live a few days without talking to each other.

What I’m indirectly trying to say is that don’t take your friends for granted, because friendship needs to be cultivated and without effort, it will fade away. Even easier if you’re miles apart.

Friends are special :)

Kind of like candy.

So choose well.

Choose the good people who make you happy and somehow make you a better person.

Like candy, choose the good and sweet ones, not the bitter and rotten ones.

I believe

Hati parah bai parah!

Berkata seorang ulama, Ibrahim Al-Khawas RA:

It’s my blog and I’ll gush if I want to

The first few days since I got the sign, I woke up with my limbs already dancing. I felt like I wanted to do everything/anything. I wanted to give my money to anyone. I kept wanting to treat everyone for a drink. I wanted to give everyone chocolates. I kept blurting to anyone I dreamed of ^&^*$. My mouth hurt from smiling too much.

I wanted to jump up and down on Oprah’s couch.

And I told myself, “Now I know what Tom Cruise felt.”

The world still feels like a musical..........

Catching Up

The thing about open house on Hari Raya is that there's...

a) we get to meet high school friends, making it...
b) more fun to catch up and reminiscing those past, and because it's at home it gives you...
c) more privacy and freedom No, it's not my open house. But it was a dear friend's of mine, our future architect from New Zeland, ALI ! (tell you, he sanggup pulang balik Malaysia for two weeks to beraya)

B3

So yes, Ali's open house. Well he said not really that open house la, it's actually tahlil or something. Reunited again with my high school peeps after God knows how long we've not seen each other.

Was such a fun night. Give us food, camera, place to chill. Not to mention the skype session with Hani in US and Rosey in Brisbane.

B2

B1

And I'm glad that I got the chance to meet Ezz before she's off to Ireland this Sunday .

IMG_1244

Such a nice sister to me, partner in crime during high school, escape classess with the reason of :

"Madam/Sir sorry, excuse us for this period please? we HAVE to take pictures for the school magazine" :D

always make fun of my heights (harharhar) and all but I'm gonna miss those, really :)

Nevertheless, Azah has confirmed her placement in Cardiff recently :) Alhamdulillah so happy for her.
It'll be a nice breather from living near the equator. God knows how long it'll be until I see them again but I hope it won't be too far into the future. =(

p/s: Oh cant believe I have so many (future) doctors around me. hihi Semoga berjaya semuanya dunia akhirat. Aminnn :)

Chilling

The big sister loves her little sister sooo much. SOOOOO geram till she kissed her..

F6

The baby sooo sigh, she cant even look up. And the big sister is watching the orang2 tua laughing, enjoying the scene.

F7

The laughs suddenly becomes louder. Little baby is perplexed. "What am I going to dooo?"

F8

and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Mommmm! Where are youuuu??

F9

Hiihihi we are just naughty bunch of cousins ;)

**********

Raya in Kuching. Haven't meet my friends here yet. Rasanya macam I want to spend more time with family this year :) Introduce you my naughty Aiman. Tengok you always give kakak headache you know. So much for your football stuff.

B1

And this one also haihh. left Love Letters crumbs everywhere!! I had to be the vacuum cleaner.

B4

Aaaaa this one, more pening! "kakak, pinjam handphone!" And yes, letting her to borrow my phone everyday is no good. You reloaded rm10 in the morning and your balance is zero before noon.

B3

Alright alright a lil bit exaggerating here and there but I thank You, Allah, for the life you have given to my family and I. I thank You for giving me a wonderful set of parents who never fail to give me love and support. I thank You for giving me 2 adorable sisters and a lil bro. I thank You for giving me the chances to have Raya with late nenek last year (every year since I was a kid). I thank You for introducing me to a bunch of amazing people. Thank YOU so much!
